Hello Family, Friends and Wider community members,

Stonehenge State school is a small school located in the remote community of Stonehenge, Central Queensland. The school was established on September 3rd, 1900 with 24 enrolments. Today in 2024, the school has 19 students enrolled, with 11 travelling to school each day on the Stonehenge bus run.

Aligned with the Department of Education Equity and Excellence strategy - realising the potential in every student, we believe that here at Stonehenge State School we deliver a progressive, high preforming education where students are continued to be encouraged to strive for upmost success.

We diligently deliver the Queensland Kindergarten and Learning Guidelines (QKLG) and the Australian Curriculum in a multi-age classroom setting for children and students in years K-6. The staff at Stonehenge State School are passionate about providing a safe, supportive and engaging learning environment to develop the children of today into leaders of the future. We consistently reflect on our practice to ensure that we meet this. Stonehenge State School works closely with our eight cluster schools to ensure quality assurance in assessment through moderation processes. As a staff body, we discuss student data to guide future learning experiences accordingly.

We value our community and pride ourselves on the connection we have to its members. We welcome family and friends to join us on the Lawn for lunch at the end of Term 1, 2 and 3 to celebrate and share the students' learnings. We enjoy cycling around our town on a Friday afternoon to share newsletters and to also borrow books from our town library. Our favourite connection with our community members though would have to be our end of year Christmas Tree, held on the Saturday of the last week of Term 4.

We welcome any visitors to our school and offer an open door policy to all people. We hope to you see you soon!

Kind regards,

Bridget Ryan
